Lhasa & Everest Base Camp Tour

Tibet is the highest plateau on the earth called “The Roof of the World” with an average altitude in excess of 3500 meters. Lying to the north of the great Himalayan range which separates it from its neighbors, India, Nepal and Bhutan, Tibet is more or less an wild land of nomads (Drokpas), monasteries, yaks, sand dunes, and high altitude desert that starches as far as eyes can see.

On this remarkable overland tour you have three days in Lhasa to acclimatize and to absorb the exoticism of Tibetan heritage. This tour covers a vast tract of this ancient land, crossing spectacular passes, through unforgettable landscapes and heading right into the base of the highest point on earth - Mt. Everest, it covers most of the attractions that Tibet has to offer.

Itinerary ::
Day 01: KATHMANDU LHASA (3650m.) Fly on AIR CHINA flight to Lhasa. Upon arrival at Gonggar Airport, You shall be met by your Tibetan Guide and transfer provided to Lhasa city. O/nts .at Hotel Flora.
Day 02 /03: LHASA SIGHTSEEING TOUR Visit the Potala & Norbulinka Palace, Drepung & Sera monastery, Jokhang Temple & Barkhor Bazaar.
Day 04: LHASA GYANTSE (3650m.)-259/kms. Drive to Gyantse crossing The KAMBA LA (4794m.) & KARO LA (5010m.) PASS via The Lake Yamdrok-Tso. O/nt at Hotel Utse.
Day 05: GYANTSE-SHIGATSE (3900m.)-90/kms. AM: Visit The Khumbum Stupa & Phalkor Monastery at Gyantse. Embark on a pleasant 2 hrs. drive to Shigatse. PM: Sightseeing Tour of the Tashilunpo Monastery and the free Tibetan market. O/nt. at Hotel Everest Post Office.
Day 06: SHIGATSE XEGAR (3900m.)-244/kms. Drive to (Approx. 8hrs.) Xegar, O/nt. at Guest House.
Day 07: XEGAR DZA RONGPHU (4920m.)-60/kms. Drive over rocky terrain on 4-WD by Landcruiser/s to the village of Dza Rongphu. O/nt. at Rongphu Lodge.
Day 08: EVEREST BASE CAMP EXCURSION (5090m.) 2 hrs. trek from The Rongbuk Monastery will lead you to the base of the highest peak on earth The North Face of Mount Everest (8848m.) Or Mount Quomolangma in Tibetan. Explore the base camp and The Ronghu Glacier. Retreat to lodge. Later in the afternoon, returnto Tingri (approx 96 kms/ 3hrs). O/nt. at Hotel Snowleopard.
Day 09: TINGRI NYALAMU (3750m.)-214/kms. Drive downhill to Nyalam crossing two spectacular passes- The LALUNG LA (5082m.) & NYALAMU (3800m.) PASS. O/nt. at Snowlion Guest House.
Day 10: NYALAMU-KATHMANDU (1200m.)-123/kms. Drive downhill to Zhangmu and to The Friendship Bridge where transportation awaits for the Groups final journey to Kathmandu.

Flight fare on Kathmandu / Lhasa sector Euro 192 + $42 Tax Additional (subject to change); Airport Taxes Euro 19 per person; Nepal re-entry visa fee US$30 per person; Urgent Tibet Visa Fee Euro 15 per person (for other than US nationals) if required; Lunch & dinner throughout the tour; Travel Insurance; Extra cost in the event of landslide or unavoidable circumstance for hiring additional transportation or porterage on the Arniko Highway (€8 -10 per person).
